We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Tameside Emergency Duty Team (EDT). As a member of the EDT, you will play a crucial role in providing emergency social work services during evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals and families in crisis situations.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Responding to emergency calls and conducting urgent assessments to determine the level of risk and appropriate interventions. Providing immediate support and safeguarding measures to individuals in crisis, including children, adults, and families. Collaborating with partner agencies, such as the police and healthcare professionals, to coordinate effective responses and interventions. Completing detailed case records and reports to document interventions and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Participating in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.Essential qualifications and skills:
Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification and registration with Social Work England. Demonstrated experience in working within a statutory social work setting, preferably in emergency duty or crisis intervention. Strong assessment and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage high-pressure situations effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build rapport and engage with diverse individuals and communities. Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to safeguarding, child protection, and adult social care.Additional requirements and benefits:
