We are seeking a dedicated Families First Team Manager to join our dynamic team in Durham. In this role, you will lead a team of qualified social workers, driving forward our commitment to providing high-quality support and intervention for families in need. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that our services are effective, responsive, and tailored to meet the diverse needs of the community.
Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing the management and performance of the Families First team, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices. Providing supervision and support to social workers, fostering a culture of continuous professional development. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to deliver integrated services and promote positive outcomes for families. Managing complex casework and ensuring effective risk assessments are conducted. Developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance service delivery and meet local and national objectives.To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
A relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW). Registered with Social Work England. Significant experience in social work practice, particularly with families and children. Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Duties and Responsibilities:
* Holding a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans and Children in Need under Section 17
* Undertaking Initial Assessments under Section 17
* Undertaking Core Assessments under Section 47
* Undertaking Child Protection Enquiries under Section 47
* Undertaking Pre-Birth Assessments under Section 47
* Undertaking Parenting Assessments
* Undertaking assessments using the Common Assessment Framework
* Undertaking Risk Assessments
* Completion of Section 7 reports requested by Family Courts
* Completion of Section 37 reports requested by Family Courts
* Providing Section 17 support to families and children in need
