I am working with a Government Department who are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist for 3-6 months based in Swindon.

The role is full time, to start ASAP and paying £400 Umbrella per day (inside IR35)

You will be required to work in the office in Swindon 1 day a week.

The role:

The Payroll Services team is a group of professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality service to our clients and customers. This digital shift will not only streamline operations but also empower their people to focus on value-added tasks and strategic payroll management.They are committed to raising professional standards, ensuring the teams develop deep payroll expertise and leadership capability. By embedding best practices, fostering collaboration, and driving continuous improvement, they aspire to build a payroll function that sets the benchmark for public sector payroll services.

Minimum Requirement:

* Previously worked in a payroll service delivery department
* Knowledge of current statutory payroll guidelines and best practice
* Ability to accurately calculate gross to net calculations manually, including overpayment calculations
* Able to translate complex payroll information to a non-payroll audience
* Able to interpret and present complex data in a range of formats to multiple audience types
* Fantastic attention to detail, motivated by producing high quality work
* A proactive and problem-solving approach with examples of successful outcomes
* Experience of handling challenging conversations/complaints
* Strong track record in payroll
* Experience working in volume environment

Desirable
* Oracle fusion / ERP change / Public sector experience
* Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) qualification
* Knowledge and experience of Oracle or similar ERP / SaaS system
* Experience of conversing and influencing with senior managers
