Stockton Borough Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join our First Contact Team, the front door for Adult Social Care in the borough. This role is essential in providing a comprehensive social work service to adults and their carers across Stockton-on-Tees.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert decision-making in relation to safeguarding alerts and concerns.
Refer appropriate alerts and concerns to the Adult Safeguarding Team for further enquiry/investigation in line with relevant legislation and policies.
Support with managing the waiting list of referrals, ensuring that risks are assessed and prioritised appropriately.
Work closely with the Deputy Team Manager, Team Manager, and fellow social workers to deliver high-quality social care services.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the Adult Safeguarding Team to ensure a coordinated approach.
Work in a fast-paced environment, using experience and knowledge to make informed decisions quickly and effectively.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Experienced Social Worker with a strong background in Adult Safeguarding.
Preferably has previous experience in a front door social work setting.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and make sound professional decisions.
Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in adult social care.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies.
