Benefit Assessor - Elmbridge
Are you a detail-oriented professional with expertise in benefits assessments? We are looking for an organised, flexible, and adaptable Benefit Assessor to join our team in Elmbridge. What You Will Do:
* Accurately assess and process new claims (UC CTS, HB pensioner, HB temp accommodation/specified exempt accommodation)
* Action Atlas manager work efficiently
* Process UCDS work, including first payments, changes of circumstances (COC), STOP, and termination records
* Manage and action general changes in circumstances, such as changes of address, self-employed, and student claims
* Apply underlying entitlement and diminishing capital calculations
* Handle reconsideration requests professionally and effectively
* Action report-type work, including age-related events and claims marked for reassessment
* Process VEPS assessments with accuracy and efficiency
What We Are Looking For:
* Proven experience with Benefits Capita Academy systems
* Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and proactively in a structured environment
* Strong problem-solving skills to assess complex housing benefits and council tax support cases
* Capability to implement correct policies and procedures, ensuring minimal benefit overpayments
* Excellent customer service skills, with a particular focus on supporting vulnerable customers
* Ability to collaborate effectively with service departments and external agencies
