About the Role:
Southwark Council is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and motivated Team Manager to lead the Looked After Children (LAC) Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced social work professional to provide exemplary leadership while ensuring high-quality services for children and families.
As Team Manager, you will oversee a team of social workers, drive permanency solutions, manage risk effectively, and ensure high-quality assessments are completed. You will play a vital role in quality assurance, safeguarding, and performance management while upholding Southwark's Practice Framework.
Key Responsibilities:
? Lead, manage, and provide professional guidance to a team of social workers and practitioners.
? Ensure high-quality social work practice, including need assessments, risk management, and permanency planning.
? Promote a strength-based, person-centred approach to working with children and families.
? Quality assure assessments, reports, and interventions, ensuring statutory compliance.
? Oversee effective performance management within the team.
? Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
? Maintain a relationship-based and responsive social work service.
? Uphold and promote Southwark's commitment to anti-racist and trauma-informed practice.
Requirements:
? Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
? Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a social work setting.
? Extensive safeguarding and risk management experience.
? Strong understanding of permanency solutions and care planning.
? Experience in quality assurance and performance management.
? Commitment to continuous professional development and service improvement.
? Enhanced DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK.
