Social Care Direct is the first point of contact for all new referrals to Wakefield Council. We are seeking an experienced Advanced Social Worker to join our dynamic team, providing triage, urgent responses, advice, and safeguarding support in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Triage new referrals, ensuring urgent cases receive immediate attention.
Provide advice, information, and signposting to service users and professionals.
Assess and manage requests for social care assessments and safeguarding referrals.
Attend multi-agency meetings and champion new initiatives and team developments.
Lead as a Best Interest Assessor, AMHP, Practice Educator, or ASYE Assessor.
Deliver short-term and crisis intervention work (non-case-holding role).
What We're Looking For:
Qualified and registered Social Worker (Social Work England).
Experience in triaging referrals, safeguarding, and crisis intervention.
Strong communication skills, particularly over the phone.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
