The successful candidate will be required to attend the office at Wallfields, Peg Lane, SG13 8EQ 2-3 times per week
Deliver comprehensive housing advice services including homelessness prevention, housing rights, tenancy issues, welfare benefits, and access to private or social housing.
Assess applications in line with homelessness legislation (e.g., Housing Act 1996 Part VII, as amended) and make legally sound decisions on eligibility, priority need, intentionality, and local connection.
Develop and implement Personal Housing Plans (PHPs) with applicants to prevent or relieve homelessness.
Liaise with landlords, lettings agents, support services, and housing providers to identify suitable accommodation solutions.
Manage a caseload efficiently and ensure all actions are recorded accurately in the housing management system.
Represent the council/organization at court hearings, case conferences, panels, or tribunals as required.
Keep up to date with housing legislation, case law, government guidance, and local policies.
Provide outreach or duty desk services, responding promptly to people in crisis.
Work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies to ensure holistic support for service users.
