Trafford Council is seeking a Level 3 Agency Social Worker who is an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our Emergency Duty Team (EDT) on a 6-month locum contract. This vital role ensures the delivery of a responsive, out-of-hours social work service across the borough, including weekends and bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide emergency social work interventions for both Children's and Adults' services outside of normal working hours.
Undertake Mental Health Act assessments as required.
Respond to safeguarding concerns involving vulnerable adults and children.
Liaise with police, health services, and other agencies during critical incidents.
Maintain accurate and timely records in line with statutory and departmental policies.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status
Proven experience in Emergency Duty Teams (EDT)
Able to work autonomously and make sound professional decisions under pressure
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Children's legislation, and Adult Social Care frameworks
