Job Title: Social Worker - Contextual Safeguarding Team
Pay Rate: £38 p/h (umbrella)
Location: Milton Keynes City Council, Civic, 1 Saxon Gate East, Milton Keynes, MK9 3EJ
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days in the office

About the Role
Join the Contextual Safeguarding Team in Milton Keynes and work with young people at risk of exploitation, knife crime, and serious violence. This team operates innovatively, combining qualified and _differently qualified_ professionals to provide intensive and creative support tailored to young people's needs.

Key Responsibilities
Case Management:
Hold and manage a caseload of young people facing contextual risks outside the home.
Create and implement tailored, strength-based support plans.
Contextual Safeguarding:
Identify risks such as exploitation, serious violence, or criminal influences outside the family home.
Deliver interventions focused on external environments impacting the young person.
Direct Engagement:
Build meaningful relationships with young people to understand their perspectives.
Provide creative, intensive support that places the young person at the center of decision-making.
Multi-Agency Collaboration:
Work with professionals across health, education, and criminal justice sectors to develop comprehensive interventions.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications:
Registered with Social Work England with a professional social work qualification.
Experience:
Proven experience in working with adolescents at risk of contextual harm.
Strong knowledge of contextual safeguarding, child exploitation, and serious violence.
Skills:
Excellent risk assessment and intervention planning abilities.
Ability to think creatively and work innovatively with young people.
Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
