Blackburn with Darwen Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team on a locum basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the community, helping individuals achieve independence and well-being through essential assessments, interventions, and home adaptations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Locum Occupational Therapist, you will:
Conduct community-based assessments, identifying needs and recommending suitable equipment (standard and specialist).
Plan and oversee minor and major home adaptations to enhance safety and functionality.
Perform manual handling assessments, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance with guidelines.
Collaborate with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to create personalized support plans.
Maintain detailed and accurate records in line with professional and legal standards.
What We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
HCPC registration and relevant qualifications in Occupational Therapy.
Proven experience in a local authority setting.
Expertise in manual handling assessments and equipment provision.
Strong knowledge of home adaptation processes.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
