Key Responsibilities:
- Caseload Management: Handle complex and high-risk cases, including Child Protection, Children in Need (CIN), Court Work, and cases involving Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS).
- Assessments and Planning: Undertake assessments, design evidence-based care and support plans, and collaborate with external agencies and service providers within allocated budgets.
- Safeguarding: Act promptly to safeguard children and adults at risk, making best-interest decisions and taking immediate action where necessary.
- Partnership Working: Work alongside families, carers, and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children and vulnerable adults.
- Mentorship: Support team development by mentoring junior staff, social work students, and newly qualified social workers.
- Crisis Response: Participate in the duty system, responding effectively to emergencies and crisis situations.
- Court Proceedings: Prepare court reports, attend hearings, and chair meetings as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification: Degree or equivalent in Social Work.
- Registration: Active Social Work England/Wales registration.
- Experience: Proven experience in Child Protection, Local Authority Teams, or Children's Services.
- Skills: Strong assessment, decision-making, and crisis management skills.
