Join Camden's Family and Friends (Fostering) Team!
We are seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join Camden's Family and Friends Team. This role focuses on assessing and supporting kinship carers, ensuring that children unable to remain with their birth parents receive safe and nurturing alternative care.
Key Responsibilities:
?? Complete Viability Assessments, SGO (Special Guardianship Order) Assessments, and Regulation 24 Fostering Assessments to determine the suitability of family and friends as carers.
?? Provide support to kinship carers, including conducting SGO reviews and ASGSF (Adoption Support Fund) assessments.
?? Work closely with Child in Need (CIN) teams, Children Looked After (CLA) teams, and Care Experience services to ensure a joined-up approach to child care planning.
?? Collaborate with professionals from various disciplines, ensuring effective multi-agency working.
?? Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with Camden's policies and statutory requirements.
?? Provide ongoing support to foster carers, including advice, guidance, and intervention when needed.
About You:
? Social Work England registered with at least 2 years of post-qualifying experience in fostering, kinship care, or children's social work.
? Strong knowledge of SGOs, fostering regulations, and statutory assessment processes.
? Experience in conducting detailed assessments and writing court-compliant reports.
? Ability to build strong relationships with kinship carers and provide tailored support.
? Strong understanding of child development, attachment theory, and trauma-informed practice.
? Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
