Senior Social Worker - Wakefield LAC
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Children in Care Service, working specifically with 16+ young people. This role offers the opportunity to provide a high-quality, comprehensive social work service to children, young people, their families, and carers, in alignment with the policies and procedures of the Children and Young People's Directorate, as well as statutory and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert social work support to children, young people, their families, and carers, ensuring the highest standards of practice.
- Manage a caseload of more complex cases, including assessing needs, managing risks, and developing appropriate care plans.
- Write detailed reports and maintain case notes in accordance with professional standards.
- Provide evidence in court related to care proceedings or other statutory matters.
- Offer casework advice, guidance, and support to colleagues within the team.
- Contribute to the planning and development of services and policies to improve outcomes for service users.
- Promote innovative practices to enhance the support provided to young people and families.
- Supervise students and newly qualified social workers, offering support and guidance as they develop their practice.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with significant experience in child and family social work.
- Knowledge of current social work procedures, evidence-based practice, and professional ethics.
- Ability to manage a complex caseload with a focus on delivering outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
- Experience of supervising staff and providing support and guidance to less experienced team members
