Rutland County Council is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Adult Safeguarding and DoLS Team. Based in Oakham, Rutland, this hybrid role requires in-person attendance two days per week.
The role focuses on complex and high-risk adult safeguarding enquiries, ensuring adherence to the Care Act 2014 and the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal. You will play a key role in preventing harm and reducing risks for adults with care and support needs by implementing the Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland Safeguarding Adults procedures and multi-agency risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and oversee Section 42 safeguarding enquiries, ensuring best practices in safeguarding vulnerable adults.
Undertake social care assessments (including complex cases) for Rutland residents.
Develop, review, and monitor support and protection plans in collaboration with individuals and carers.
Work with individuals who lack capacity to make decisions regarding their care and accommodation, ensuring compliance with the Mental Capacity Act.
Complete and present detailed reports to support safeguarding interventions.
Work within a multi-agency framework to ensure a coordinated and person-centred approach to safeguarding.
About You:
We are looking for a Social Worker who:
Is a qualified and registered Social Worker with post-qualifying experience in adult safeguarding.
Has experience in handling Section 42 safeguarding enquiries.
Has strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Making Safeguarding Personal, and the Mental Capacity Act.
Is confident in risk management and multi-agency collaboration.
Can work independently within a hybrid model, balancing remote and in-person responsibilities.
