North East Lincolnshire Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Children's Disability Service, based at our new central Grimsby office.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and young people with disabilities, within a supportive and well-structured team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake Children and Families Assessments (CA89) and demonstrate sound knowledge of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act.
Deliver Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care plans.
Chair relevant meetings and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
Assess risk and identify appropriate short break services.
Support children transitioning into adult services with clear and effective Transition Plans.
Engage effectively with children and young people who may have communication challenges.
Contribute to court work where necessary.
Have a working knowledge of EHCPs and SEND processes (desirable).
About You:
You will be a qualified Social Worker with experience in disability services.
Strong communication and engagement skills, particularly with children with complex needs.
Familiarity with statutory processes and safeguarding procedures.
Committed to Safer Recruitment principles and compliance.
