An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Skilled Occupational Therapist to join Nottinghamshire's Maximising Independence Team within Adult Social Care. This is a dynamic and rewarding position where you'll play a key role in promoting independence and wellbeing for adults across the county.
As part of a forward-thinking multidisciplinary team, you will maintain a complex OT caseload, provide high-quality assessments, and offer expert advice and guidance to colleagues and service users. Your work will directly contribute to supporting individuals to live independently, safely, and with dignity.
Pay rate: Negotiable (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a complex occupational therapy caseload, including assessment, support planning, and review.
Undertake OT assessments using a wide range of health and social care tools, such as:
Activity analysis
Graded goal setting
Environmental risk assessments
Specialist equipment provision
Major adaptation design specifications
Moving and handling risk assessments
Mental Capacity and Continuing Healthcare assessments
Provide referral screening advice and support to the wider Maximising Independence Team.
Identify and facilitate access to reablement and enablement opportunities.
Champion a strengths-based approach to promote independence and maximise personal capabilities.
Identify and utilise community assets and universal services in line with Adult Social Care Strategy.
Coordinate and monitor ongoing service provision with a clear focus on wellbeing and outcome-based practice.
Work collaboratively with service users, carers, and providers to deliver tailored support plans.
Provide professional advice, guidance and support to individuals, families, and colleagues.
Requirements:
HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
Proven experience working in adult social care settings, ideally with complex needs
Strong understanding of current legislation, including the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act
Excellent communication, assessment, and case management skills
A flexible, solution-focused, and collaborative approach
