We are currently seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the Children in Care (CIC) Team within Barnsley Council.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner looking to take on a key role within a supportive and forward-thinking Children's Services team.
Role DetailsPosition: Advanced PractitionerTeam: Children in Care (CIC)Location: BarnsleyContract: Ongoing Agency ContractAbout the RoleYou will play a vital role in delivering high-quality services to children in care, ensuring robust safeguarding practices and positive outcomes for children and young people. The role also involves supporting and mentoring colleagues within the team and contributing to best practice development.
Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake complex assessments and care planning for children in careEnsure high standards of safeguarding and child protection practiceWork within court proceedings and legal frameworks where requiredProvide guidance and support to less experienced social workersContribute to service development and improvement initiativesMaintain accurate and timely case recordings and reportsRequirementsSocial Work England registrationSignificant post-qualifying experience within Children's ServicesStrong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and court processesExperience in mentoring, supporting, or supervising social workersExcellent assessment, communication, and analytical skillsBenefitsCompetitive rate of £40 per hourSupportive and collaborative team environmentOpportunity to influence and develop best practiceOngoing contract with strong potential for extensionKind regards,
