We are currently seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the Children in Care (CIC) Team within Barnsley Council.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner looking to take on a key role within a supportive and forward-thinking Children's Services team.

About the Role
You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality services to children in care, ensuring robust safeguarding practices and positive outcomes for children and young people. The role also involves supporting and mentoring colleagues within the team and contributing to best practice development.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake complex assessments and care planning for children in care
- Ensure high standards of safeguarding and child protection practice
- Work within court proceedings and legal frameworks where required
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced social workers
- Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate and timely case recordings and reports
Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and court processes
- Experience in mentoring, supporting, or supervising social workers
- Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills
