Pay Rate: £37 per hour (Umbrella)
Working Pattern: Hybrid - just 2 days in the office per month
We're recruiting experienced Family Court Advisers to join the Work to First Hearing Team at CAFCASS. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly respected organisation while benefiting from an outstanding hybrid working arrangement.
The RoleAs part of the Work to First Hearing Team, you'll prepare safeguarding letters for the court, undertake risk assessments, liaise with partner agencies, and provide high-quality analysis to support safe and timely decisions for children and families involved in private law proceedings.
RequirementsQualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
Experience working within children's safeguarding services.
Strong assessment, risk analysis, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively within court timescales and multi-agency environments.

Join our dedicated CAFCASS Work To First Hearing team in a hybrid role that allows you to make a real difference in the lives of children and families. This position, based in the Care (Qualified) field, requires a passionate and skilled professional to support the timely progression of care proceedings. You will work collaboratively with local authorities, legal representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure that children's voices are heard and their best interests are prioritized.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments and preparing reports for court hearings. Engaging with children and families to gather pertinent information. Collaborating with social workers and other professionals to provide comprehensive support. Attending court hearings and presenting findings as necessary. Monitoring case progress and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A relevant professional qualification in social work (e.g., Social Work Degree, CQSW, DipSW). Registration with Social Work England or equivalent. Strong understanding of child protection legislation and care proceedings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
