Gateshead Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children in Care Advance Practitioner to join our dynamic Qualified Social Work team. As a Children in Care Advance Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:
Assessing the needs of children in care and developing tailored care plans. Providing direct support and intervention for children, families, and foster carers. Conducting regular reviews and evaluations of care plans and progress. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure holistic support for children. Leading and mentoring junior social workers and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work). Current Social Work England registration. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in children's social work, particularly with children in care. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices. Duties and Responsibilities:
* Producing Child Permanency Reports
* Reviewing Financial payments received by kinship carers/ or carers granted Residence Orders/Special Guardianship Orders
* Preparing looked after children review reports
* Initiating Personal Education Plans (PEP's)
* Producing Health Care Assessments and Health Plans
* Making referrals for Foster Placements
* Preparing children for placements
* Implementing Twin Tracking processes for children in care proceedings
