We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team in the London Borough of Havering. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families in the community.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Conducting assessments and investigations to determine the needs and risks faced by children and families. Developing and implementing care plans to safeguard children from harm and promote their welfare. Working collaboratively with other professionals, such as health and education professionals, to provide holistic support to families. Participating in case conferences, court proceedings, and multidisciplinary meetings to advocate for the best interests of children. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and reports in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies.Essential qualifications and skills:
Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work). Registered with Social Work England and eligible to work in the UK. Demonstrated experience in child protection and safeguarding work within a local authority setting. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make evidence-based decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and partner agencies.Additional requirements and benefits:
