We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team in the London Borough of Havering. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families in the community.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Conducting assessments and investigations to determine the needs and risks faced by children and families.
  • Developing and implementing care plans to safeguard children from harm and promote their welfare.
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals, such as health and education professionals, to provide holistic support to families.
  • Participating in case conferences, court proceedings, and multidisciplinary meetings to advocate for the best interests of children.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and reports in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work).
  • Registered with Social Work England and eligible to work in the UK.
  • Demonstrated experience in child protection and safeguarding work within a local authority setting.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make evidence-based decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and partner agencies.
