We are currently recruiting for a Families First Team Assistant Team Manager to join Durham's Children's Services team on an ongoing agency contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social work professional to join a well-established local authority and play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality services to children and families.
About the RoleAs an Assistant Team Manager within the Families First Team, you will support the Team Manager in the effective management and development of the service. You will provide guidance, oversight, and professional support to social workers, ensuring excellent practice standards and positive outcomes for children and families.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Team Manager in the day-to-day management of the Families First Team.Provide supervision, guidance, and support to social workers.Promote high-quality social work practice and ensure statutory requirements are met.Support complex assessments, safeguarding enquiries, and child protection processes.Monitor performance, caseloads, and quality of practice.Contribute to service improvement and the development of best practice.Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.RequirementsSocial Work England registration.Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services.Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and court processes.Experience supporting, mentoring, or supervising social workers.Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills.Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced statutory environment.BenefitsCompetitive pay rate.Supportive and collaborative team environment.Opportunity to influence and develop best practice.Ongoing agency contract with potential for extension.Opportunity to make a meaningful impact within Children's Services.Interested candidates are encouraged to apply with an updated CV for immediate consideration.
