We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fostering and Kinship Care Team Manager to join our dynamic team in Darlington. In this pivotal role, you will lead a passionate team of social workers and support staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality fostering and kinship care services. You will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, assessment, and support of foster carers and kinship families, while promoting best practices and compliance with relevant legislation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing the fostering and kinship care team, providing supervision and support to staff. Developing and implementing effective strategies to enhance the recruitment and retention of foster carers. Ensuring robust assessments and support plans are in place for foster and kinship families. Promoting collaborative working relationships with external agencies, stakeholders, and families. Monitoring and evaluating service delivery to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in fostering and kinship care, including management or supervisory experience. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others. Duties and Responsibilities:
* We are looking for an Agency Team Manager to manage the Fostering and Kinship Care Team at Darlington Borough Council.
* The team provide support to foster carers and family carers including assessment, supervision, and review.
* The post holder would need to attend Fostering Panel as the responsible Team Manager.
* They would provide oversight and supervision to a team of qualified Social Worker who directly assess prospective carers.
COMMENTS:
* The role is 37 hours per week, any hours worked over can be claimed as TOIL.
* Darlington has a blended working policy where you can work from home/office in line with service and role requirements.
* All IT equipment will be provided.
