Northamptonshire Children's Trust is seeking an experienced and dedicated Practice Manager to join their Fostering Service in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident leader to play a key role in shaping high-quality fostering services while supporting and developing social work practitioners within a well-established local authority team.
Role OverviewJob Title: Practice Manager - FosteringLocation: Northampton (Angel Square, NN1 1ED)Pay Rate: £38 per hour (Umbrella)Hours: 37 hours per weekWorking Pattern: Hybrid - 1 day per week in the officeKey Responsibilities
As a Practice Manager within the Fostering Service, you will:
Provide strong leadership, supervision, and guidance to a team of social workers and practitionersOversee fostering assessments, support plans, and reviews to ensure compliance with statutory requirementsDrive high standards of practice, ensuring positive outcomes for children in foster careSupport foster carers through effective supervision, training, and developmentManage complex cases and provide professional advice on safeguarding and placement stabilityEnsure all work meets Ofsted standards and aligns with fostering legislation and best practice guidanceContribute to service development and continuous improvement initiativesEssential RequirementsQualified Social Worker with valid Social Work England registrationSignificant experience within Children's Services, specifically FosteringProven experience in a supervisory or leadership roleStrong knowledge of fostering regulations, policies, and safeguarding practicesAbility to manage complex cases and support team performance effectivelyExcellent communication and decision-making skillsWhy This Role?Opportunity to step into a leadership role within a supportive and forward-thinking teamHybrid working model offering flexibilityCompetitive hourly rateChance to make a real and lasting impact on children and foster families
