We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Locality Team in Gloucestershire. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families within our community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing and managing cases, ensuring that vulnerable individuals receive the support and services they need to thrive.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough assessments of the needs of children, young people, and families. Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with service users and other professionals. Managing a caseload effectively, ensuring timely interventions and support. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with local policies and procedures. Participating in multi-agency meetings to coordinate services and share information. Providing guidance and support to less experienced team members and students.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You should also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a solid understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues. Experience in working within a locality team or similar setting is highly desirable.

Locum Opportunity - Qualified Social Worker (Adults) - Cheltenham Locality Team - Gloucestershire

We're currently recruiting for a full-time Locum Social Worker to join the Adults Social Care Services - Cheltenham Locality Team within Gloucestershire County Council on an initial 3-month contract (with potential for extension).

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Pay Rate: £35 per hour
Accommodation/Mileage Allowance: £150 per week (T&Cs apply)
Contract: 3 months minimum
Caseload Cap: 25
Working Pattern: Hybrid - first 2 weeks in-office for induction, then only 2-3 days/week in Gloucestershire for visits/meetings/supervision

About the Role:
As a Social Worker in our Cheltenham Locality Team, you'll be at the heart of helping adults live independently and with dignity. You'll work with people in crisis, supporting them to regain control of their lives and connect with resources within their community using the Three Conversations model - a strengths-based, person-centred approach to practice.

What We're Looking For:
Social Work England registration

Completed ASYE or equivalent experience in a statutory setting

Proven experience within Adult Social Care, including court and multi-agency work

Strong understanding of legislation and best practice in Adult Social Work

A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments considered)

What You'll Get in Return:
£35 per hour

Weekly accommodation/mileage support - £150

Manageable capped caseloads (max 25)

Robust induction and ongoing support

Agile working environment with regular supervision
