Experienced Social Worker required for fostering role in Devon East as advanced practitioner. Exeter., Devon. Long term contracts with rates of pay from £42.00ph. Excellent transport links to M5. Beautiful area close to the coast and vibrant city of Exeter. Working closely with the Team Manager, you will provide professional guidance and supervision to colleagues within your team. Your role includes supporting your manager with the day-to-day operations of your team and contributing to an effective and efficient service to foster carers. This is a hands-on role, where you have a smaller number of foster carers to support and supervise. Other duties can include undertaking fostering standards of care concerns or allegation investigations and undertaking the role of foster panel advisor. You will share your knowledge and experience with colleagues, offer mentoring to new workers joining the team and contribute to the improvement work of the service. Skills and Experience Our Advanced Social Workers provide a lead social work role within each of our teams, supporting the development of good evidence-based practice. With substantial post-qualifying experience and the ability to demonstrate that you're working in line with the BASW PCF framework, you will: Demonstrate the ability to work holistically with foster carers, children in care and our partner agencies. Have evidence of substantial post-qualifying training and development Be able to lead improvement and challenge the quality of social care practice in a constructive manner Champion high standards of professional social work practice Encourage and support opportunities for reflection and learning, delivering on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to unqualified/alternatively qualified staff, students, and less experienced social workers. Kinship, Assessment, Supervision & Support - Countywide The Kinship Team assesses, supports and supervises new and prospective kinship carers in the county. As manager of this team, you will oversee the assessment of temporarily approved Kinship foster carers and prospective special guardians, as well as the provision of support and supervision provided by social workers. Ensuring that children and young people in these arrangements receive high quality support. Your leadership will be essential in managing service delivery, implementing development of the team, and ensuring statutory duties are undertaken. The suitable candidate will have experience of working with children and families and identifying potential child protection or dealing with ongoing child protection issues The work within the team is of a complex nature, either high end children in need, or child protection.
