Are you a visionary leader with substantial experience in children's residential services? Gloucestershire County Council is seeking a Responsible Individual (RI) to lead and oversee the development and delivery of our in-house regulated residential services for children in care and care leavers.
This is a high-impact, strategic role that will see you leading a portfolio of newly developed children's homes and supported accommodation, all at varying stages of Ofsted registration. You will line manage the Registered Managers and provide regulatory oversight to ensure all settings meet the highest standards of care and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational and strategic leadership of children's homes and supported accommoda-tion
* Direct line management of Registered Managers across all regulated services
* Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and statutory frameworks
* Champion continuous service development and quality assurance
* Contribute to the commissioning and quality monitoring of external residential pro-viders
* Report to senior leadership and corporate parenting forums on service development and performance
About You
We're looking for an experienced leader who:
* Has extensive experience in statutory children's social care settings
* Has previously been a Registered Manager or senior leader managing multiple chil-dren's homes
* Is skilled at managing large budgets and understands the governance structure of local authority services
* Demonstrates deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks including Quality Standards and SCCIF
* Is confident working in high-pressure environments and capable of driving improve-ments across services
You will also:
* Hold a relevant leadership or management qualification
* Have a full driving licence and willingness to travel across the county
* Be subject to an enhanced DBS check
