Hertfordshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Out of Hours Team. This pivotal role requires a passionate individual who can provide high-quality social work services during evenings and weekends, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals and families. As a Senior Practitioner, you will lead a small team of social workers, offering guidance and support while managing complex cases and making critical decisions in urgent situations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing expert supervision and support to junior social workers and support staff. Conducting assessments and interventions in crisis situations, ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements. Collaborating with external agencies and stakeholders to develop effective care plans. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of casework and interventions. Participating in on-call duties, providing advice and support to team members as needed.To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Significant post-qualification experience in social work, particularly in child protection or adult services. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
