Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Consultant Psychologist to join a leading private mental health hospital in Leeds. The service provides high-dependency recovery and rehabilitation care for males aged 18 years and over with a wide range of mental health disorders.

The Consultant Psychologist will be a key member of the hospital's Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological assessment and therapy to service users, alongside providing guidance and supervision to other members of the clinical team.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake psychological assessments and plan effective therapy programmes for assigned clients

Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions

Manage an assigned caseload within agreed timescales

Maintain accurate clinical records, reports, and case notes

Present and share relevant client information with the MDT

Provide psychotherapeutic leadership and guidance to the wider clinical team

Support research and audit activities, and contribute to service development

Identify and implement new treatment approaches based on best practice and evidence

Provide clinical supervision for the Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) Practitioner

Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are upheld at all times

Essential Requirements:

Minimum of a Masters degree in Psychology

Recognised postgraduate qualification and professional accreditation (BABCP, BCP, BPS or equivalent)

Prior experience in clinical psychology practice

Experience in delivering evidence-based therapy

Ability to write clear and professional clinical reports (HR20 report writing experience desirable)

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to build trust and engagement with service users to support therapeutic interventions

Desirable Experience:

Training and experience in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Experience across a range of complex mental health presentations

Information Management & Safeguarding:

Responsible for the confidentiality, security and accuracy of patient data and records

Adhere to local safeguarding policies and procedures for both children and adults

All staff are required to attend safeguarding training and undertake additional training relevant to their role

Working Environment:

The role will require emotional resilience and the ability to work within a challenging but highly rewarding therapeutic environment

The post holder will regularly be required to work with service users presenting complex and challenging behaviours
