About the Role
Westminster City Council is seeking an experienced and passionate Practice Manager to join our Adult Social Care team. This is a vital role focused on learning and development, supporting social workers with complex cases, and promoting best practice across the team.
As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding for adults in Westminster. You will also act as a Duty Senior and Safeguarding Adult Manager when required.
Key Responsibilities
Support the learning and development of social workers, promoting excellent practice and high-quality report writing.
Provide expert guidance on complex cases, particularly those involving the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Court of Protection.
Act as Duty Senior and Safeguarding Adult Manager on a rota basis.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve outcomes for service users and ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, reflective practice, and professional development.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a confident and knowledgeable social work professional who can:
Lead by example and support others to develop their practice.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Court of Protection processes.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, service users, and external partners.
Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and empathy.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
Significant post-qualification experience in adult social care.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, legal frameworks, and best practice in adult social work.
Ability to mentor and support the development of less experienced staff.

About the Role:
Westminster City Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join our South Complex Care Team. Based in Victoria, this hybrid role offers the flexibility to work from home, with regular attendance in the office required as agreed with your line manager.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care through Care Act assessments, care planning, risk assessments, reviews, CHC assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments, and managing referrals. You will also take a lead on safeguarding enquiries in collaboration with the Safeguarding Operational Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake Care Act assessments, create care plans, and perform risk assessments.
Act as Lead Enquiry Officer in safeguarding investigations.
Support duty work, including occasional urgent visits and casework.
Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and participate in team meetings.
Use MOSAIC or Frameworki (FWI) systems to manage cases and documentation.
Promote strength-based approaches to support independence and improved outcomes.
Requirements:
Social Work England registration (mandatory).
Experience in adult social care, preferably within a local authority complex care setting.
Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Teams, and other MS Office tools.
Familiarity with MOSAIC or FWI is desirable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and work both independently and as part of a team.
