Cambridgeshire County Council is recruiting 7 Children's Social Workers to join the Family Support & Safeguarding service across Huntingdon, Wisbech and Cambridge City.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join a supportive local authority environment, working with children, young people and families to achieve positive outcomes through a strengths-based and child-centred approach.

About the Role
As a Children's Social Worker within Family Support & Safeguarding, you will provide high-quality statutory social work support to vulnerable children and families.
You will:
Complete assessments and develop effective plans to safeguard childrenUndertake child protection and safeguarding interventionsEnsure the voice of the child is central to your practiceBuild strong relationships with children, young people and familiesWork collaboratively with partner agencies and multi-disciplinary teamsProduce clear, analytical reports and maintain accurate case recordsManage risk and support positive outcomes through effective social work interventionsCambridgeshire uses a strengths-based Family Safeguarding model, supporting practitioners to work collaboratively with families and focus on sustainable change.
About You
We are looking for qualified Children's Social Workers with:
✅ Social Work qualification (Degree/Masters/PG Diploma/Fast Track)
✅ Active Social Work England registration
✅ Experience working with children and families
✅ Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge
✅ Experience completing assessments and managing a caseload
✅ Excellent communication, analytical and report-writing skills
✅ Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across the county
Experience within Family Support, Safeguarding, Child Protection, CIN, LAC or Children's Services is desirable.
