Cambridgeshire County Council is recruiting 7 Children's Social Workers to join the Family Support & Safeguarding service across Huntingdon, Wisbech and Cambridge City.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join a supportive local authority environment, working with children, young people and families to achieve positive outcomes through a strengths-based and child-centred approach.

About the Role

As a Children's Social Worker within Family Support & Safeguarding, you will provide high-quality statutory social work support to vulnerable children and families.

You will:

  • Complete assessments and develop effective plans to safeguard children
  • Undertake child protection and safeguarding interventions
  • Ensure the voice of the child is central to your practice
  • Build strong relationships with children, young people and families
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Produce clear, analytical reports and maintain accurate case records
  • Manage risk and support positive outcomes through effective social work interventions

About You

We are looking for qualified Children's Social Workers with:

βœ… Social Work qualification (Degree/Masters/PG Diploma/Fast Track)
βœ… Active Social Work England registration
βœ… Experience working with children and families
βœ… Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge
βœ… Experience completing assessments and managing a caseload
βœ… Excellent communication, analytical and report-writing skills
βœ… Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across the county

Experience within Family Support, Safeguarding, Child Protection, CIN, LAC or Children's Services is desirable.
