St. Helens Council is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to join their Duty Team.

Location:- Atlas House, 2 Corporation Street, St Helens

Pay Rate:- £46.00 per hour (Umbrella)

Working Pattern: - 2 days in the office unless on duty , which will require 5 days in office. 1 in 4 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of social workers delivering timely and effective duty and assessment services.Provide supervision, case oversight, and decision-making on complex safeguarding referrals and child protection concerns.Oversee the screening and allocation of referrals, ensuring appropriate threshold decisions and timely interventions.Ensure Child & Family Assessments, Section 17 assessments, and Section 47 enquiries are completed to a high standard and within statutory timescales.Chair strategy discussions, complex case meetings, and multi-agency planning meetings where required.Monitor team performance, quality assure practice, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.Support, coach, and develop social workers through reflective supervision and professional guidance.Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including health, education, police, and legal services, to deliver effective safeguarding outcomes.Manage risk effectively, ensuring children are safeguarded and appropriate action is taken in response to emerging concerns.Ensure compliance with statutory guidance, local authority policies, and performance standards while promoting high-quality, child-centred practice.

Essential Requirements:

Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalentAt least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's servicesSocial Work England RegistrationDriving license and access to own vehicle
