Join Telford & Wrekin Council as a Senior Social Worker in our Early Intervention & Prevention Team, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting families and children at critical stages of their development. We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual who is committed to making a positive impact in the community. In this role, you will work collaboratively with families, schools, and other agencies to deliver high-quality social work services that promote well-being and prevent escalation of needs.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Assessing the needs of children and families, developing and implementing effective intervention plans. Providing expert guidance and support to social work practitioners and students. Leading case conferences and multi-agency meetings to ensure coordinated responses to safeguarding concerns. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements. Contributing to the development of team policies and procedures to enhance service delivery.To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Significant post-qualification experience in children and families' social work. Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills. Location: Telford & Wrekin (Hybrid - Office / Home / Community)
Pay Rate: £31.97 per hour (Umbrella)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (37 hours per week)
Telford & Wrekin Council are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Early Intervention & Prevention Team, working within a strengths-based, Community Led Support and asset-based practice framework.
This is a hybrid role combining office-based work, remote working, and direct client visits, with a strong emphasis on promoting independence, preventing escalation of need, and ensuring high-quality outcomes for adults in the community.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage a professional adult social work caseload within Early Intervention & Prevention servicesComplete Care Act 2014 assessments, support planning, and statutory reviewsUndertake Care Act Reviews with a strong focus on maximising Continuing Healthcare (CHC) funding opportunitiesApply Mental Capacity Act 2005 principles in assessment and decision-makingWork in accordance with the Care Act 2014, Human Rights Act 1998, and safeguarding legislationUndertake proportionate risk assessments and safeguarding enquiries, ensuring timely and effective interventionsParticipate in weekly peer review meetings to support reflective case discussion and decision-makingWork collaboratively with individuals, families, carers, and multi-agency partners to deliver integrated supportPromote strengths-based practice and community-based solutionsMaintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case recording in line with local authority standardsContribute to service development, reflective practice, and continuous professional improvement
