We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Qualified Social Worker to join the Complex Care Needs Team within a well-established local authority in Wakefield. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and experienced practitioner looking to make a positive impact while working within a supportive team.
About the RoleAs a Senior Qualified Social Worker, you will work with children and families with complex care needs, undertaking high-quality assessments, managing complex cases, and supporting positive outcomes. You will also play a key role in promoting best practice and providing guidance and support to colleagues within the team.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage a complex caseload of children and families.Complete high-quality assessments, care planning, and reviews.Undertake safeguarding and child protection work in line with statutory guidance.Prepare reports and represent the local authority in court proceedings where required.Work collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver effective support plans.Provide mentoring, guidance, and support to less experienced social workers where appropriate.Ensure accurate and timely case recording in line with organisational standards.RequirementsSocial Work England registration.Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services.Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and court processes.Experience supporting, mentoring, or supervising social workers.Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills.BenefitsCompetitive pay rate of £40 per hour.Supportive and collaborative team environment.Opportunity to influence and develop best practice.Ongoing agency contract with the potential for extension.If you're an experienced Children's Social Worker looking for your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
