Join our dedicated team in Walsall as a Supervising Social Worker within the Fostering Team. This hybrid role allows you to work one day in the office and the rest from home, offering you the flexibility to balance your professional and personal life while making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting and supervising foster carers, ensuring that the highest standards of care are maintained.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting regular supervision and support meetings with foster carers. Assessing and preparing foster carers for fostering placements. Conducting home visits and ensuring compliance with fostering regulations. Providing training and development opportunities for foster carers. Collaborating with social work colleagues and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following essential qualifications and skills:

A relevant social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Experience in fostering or children's services. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Supervising Social Worker - Fostering Team
Walsall Council

Pay Rate: Up to £33.30 per hour (Umbrella)
Location: WS1 1TP, Walsall
Working Pattern: Hybrid (1 day per week in the office)

Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Supervising Social Worker to join the Fostering Team at Walsall Council.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated fostering service, supporting foster carers to provide safe, stable and nurturing homes for children and young people. You will supervise and support foster carers, undertake assessments and reviews, and work closely with partner agencies to ensure positive outcomes for children in care.

You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of fostering practice, providing professional guidance to carers, and ensuring all statutory requirements are met in line with fostering regulations and children's social care legislation.

Key Skills Required:

Previous experience within Fostering, Supervising Social Work or Children's ServicesStrong knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding and statutory children's social careExperience supervising, supporting and assessing foster carersAbility to complete high-quality assessments, reports and foster carer reviewsExcellent communication and multi-agency partnership working skillsAbility to build and maintain positive relationships with children, foster carers and professionalsSocial Work England registration required

Essential Requirements:

Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalentRegistered with Social Work EnglandPrevious experience within Children's Services, ideally within a Fostering TeamStrong knowledge of fostering legislation, safeguarding and children's social care practice
