Wrexham County Brough Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join their Family Support Team.

Location :-31 Chester Street, Wrexham

Payrate :- Up to £41.00 Per hour (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake statutory social work duties for children and families subject to Child Protection Plans and Child in Need plans.Complete comprehensive assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with legislation and local procedures.Manage a varied caseload effectively, ensuring timely interventions and positive outcomes for children and young people.Carry out direct work with children and families to reduce risk, build resilience, and improve safeguarding outcomes.Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including health, education, and legal professionals, to deliver coordinated support.Prepare high-quality reports, case recordings, and documentation to support planning and decision-making.Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, core groups, strategy meetings, and court proceedings where required.Assess risk and make informed decisions using safeguarding thresholds and best practice frameworks.Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with children, families, and carers to support positive change.Promote anti-discriminatory, anti-oppressive, and child-centred practice in all areas of work.Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and reflective practice to support professional development and service improvement.

Essential Requirements:

Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalentAt least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's servicesSocial Work England RegistrationDriving license and access to own vehicle
