Wrexham County Brough Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join their Family Support Team.

Location :-31 Chester Street, Wrexham

Payrate :- Up to £41.00 Per hour (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake statutory social work duties for children and families subject to Child Protection Plans and Child in Need plans.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with legislation and local procedures.
  • Manage a varied caseload effectively, ensuring timely interventions and positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Carry out direct work with children and families to reduce risk, build resilience, and improve safeguarding outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including health, education, and legal professionals, to deliver coordinated support.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, case recordings, and documentation to support planning and decision-making.
  • Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, core groups, strategy meetings, and court proceedings where required.
  • Assess risk and make informed decisions using safeguarding thresholds and best practice frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with children, families, and carers to support positive change.
  • Promote anti-discriminatory, anti-oppressive, and child-centred practice in all areas of work.
  • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and reflective practice to support professional development and service improvement.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
