Sefton Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Adult Social Care (ASC) team. This is a vital role requiring a practitioner with substantial experience and a high level of expertise in the field of adult social work.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake complex casework, including comprehensive assessments and management of risk.
Demonstrate critical knowledge of social work theories and intervention models, applying them in practice to support adults with complex needs.
Serve as a source of expertise and support for peers, providing guidance and mentorship within the team.
Oversee, supervise, and assess social work students on placement, contributing to their professional development.
Prepare and present evidence in court proceedings, particularly in relation to care and safeguarding cases.
Requirements:
Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
Significant post-qualified experience in Adult Social Care.
Strong understanding of relevant legislation and statutory responsibilities.
Proven ability to manage high-risk and complex cases independently.
Experience in student supervision and professional development.
Confidence and professionalism in court settings.

We are looking for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join Lambeth Council's Adult Social Care Team for a 3-6 month contract.
This role is ideal for a skilled practitioner who can hit the ground running with a varied caseload and contribute meaningfully to the care and support of vulnerable adults.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete community and placement reviews in a timely manner
Conduct Mental Capacity Assessments (MCA) related to tenancy, residence, finances, etc.
Manage safeguarding enquiries under Section 42
Prepare legal documentation for Court of Protection cases, including Section 21 challenges and deputyship applications
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings
Assess, advise on, and review Direct Payments care plans (desirable)
Complete Carers Assessments and offer general support to carers
Offer clear, concise advice to vulnerable adults
Apply relevant legislation to day-to-day practice (e.g. Care Act, MCA, etc.)
Use Mosaic and other IT systems to maintain accurate case records
Requirements:
Social Work England registration
Strong background in adult safeguarding and MCA work
Previous experience with Direct Payments and legal processes (desirable)
Confident IT user (preferably with experience using Mosaic)
Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload independently
