Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is currently seeking an experienced Team Manager to support their Family Help Team.

Location: Council House, Priory Road
Pay Rate: £44.00 per hour (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and support a team of social workers and family practitioners delivering high-quality Family Help services.Provide effective supervision, case oversight, and decision-making to ensure safe, timely, and child-centred interventions.Oversee assessments, child and family plans, and interventions, ensuring they are outcome-focused and completed within statutory timescales.Promote early intervention and strengths-based practice to support families and prevent the escalation of risk.Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, assessed, and managed effectively in line with statutory guidance and local procedures.Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings, strategy discussions, and planning forums to coordinate effective support for families.Monitor team performance, quality assure practice, and drive continuous service improvement through audits and performance management.Build strong partnerships with education, health, police, and other agencies to deliver coordinated support for children and families.Coach, mentor, and develop staff through reflective supervision, performance management, and professional development.Ensure compliance with legislation, statutory guidance, and local authority policies while promoting positive outcomes for children and families.

Essential Requirements:

Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalentAt least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's servicesSocial Work England RegistrationDriving license and access to own vehicle
