Dudley - Team Manager - Family Help Team
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is currently seeking an experienced Team Manager to support their Family Help Team.
Location: Council House, Priory Road
Pay Rate: £44.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and support a team of social workers and family practitioners delivering high-quality Family Help services.
- Provide effective supervision, case oversight, and decision-making to ensure safe, timely, and child-centred interventions.
- Oversee assessments, child and family plans, and interventions, ensuring they are outcome-focused and completed within statutory timescales.
- Promote early intervention and strengths-based practice to support families and prevent the escalation of risk.
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, assessed, and managed effectively in line with statutory guidance and local procedures.
- Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings, strategy discussions, and planning forums to coordinate effective support for families.
- Monitor team performance, quality assure practice, and drive continuous service improvement through audits and performance management.
- Build strong partnerships with education, health, police, and other agencies to deliver coordinated support for children and families.
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff through reflective supervision, performance management, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, statutory guidance, and local authority policies while promoting positive outcomes for children and families.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
