Dudley - Team Manager - Family Help
Dudley Metropolitan Brough Council is currently seeking an experienced Team Manager to support their Family Help Team.
Location: Council House, Priory Road
Pay Rate: £44.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational and strategic leadership to a Family Help Team delivering early help and statutory support to children, young people and families.
- Oversee allocation, case progression, and performance management to ensure timely, high-quality interventions that improve outcomes and reduce risk.
- Deliver reflective supervision, coaching and professional development for social workers and family support practitioners, promoting a strong learning culture.
- Ensure practice consistently meets statutory requirements, safeguarding standards, and local policies, including effective risk management and decision-making.
- Monitor service performance through audit, quality assurance activity, and data analysis, implementing improvement plans where required.
- Lead on complex case discussions, strategy meetings and multi-agency planning, providing clear management oversight and escalation where necessary.
- Drive effective partnership working with education, health, police and voluntary sector partners to deliver coordinated family help and safeguarding responses.
- Manage team resources, workload distribution and capacity planning to maintain safe and sustainable caseloads.
- Contribute to service development, transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across Children's Services.
- Represent the service at internal and external meetings, panels and forums, promoting best practice and positive outcomes for children and families.
- Ensure equality, diversity and inclusion principles are embedded within practice and service delivery.
- Maintain compliance with organisational policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
