Role Details:
Location: Council House, Solihull
Pay Rate: Up to £33.50 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage complex assessments, ensuring timely and effective decision-making at the Integrated Front Door.Provide expert guidance and practice support to social workers on safeguarding thresholds, risk assessment, and statutory interventions.Undertake and oversee Child & Family Assessments and Section 47 enquiries in line with statutory guidance.Screen and evaluate referrals, ensuring children and families receive the most appropriate level of intervention.Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to gather information, assess risk, and coordinate safeguarding responses.Support the Team Manager with case oversight, quality assurance, and the development of high-quality practice.Mentor and coach less experienced practitioners, promoting reflective practice and professional development.Ensure children's voices, lived experiences, and best interests remain central to all assessments and planning.Maintain accurate, high-quality assessments, reports, and case records in line with legislation and local authority standards.Contribute to service improvement by promoting best practice, performance standards, and positive outcomes for children and families.

Ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time by applying appropriate thresholds to referrals.Process and screen referrals effectively to identify immediate needs and ensure timely intervention.Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills when working with children, families, and multi-agency partners.Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, making timely decisions in accordance with MASH timescales.Collaborate within a team to support colleagues and partners, ensuring smooth service delivery.Attend strategy discussions to present relevant information and contribute to multi-agency decision-making processes.Actively participate in safeguarding and risk assessments to protect vulnerable children and families.Adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of children.Participate in line management and team meetings, receiving support and providing input to team development.For the first 2 weeks, be office-based to learn processes and integrate with the team before transitioning to the hybrid working arrangement.Social workers will alternate between working from home and the office: 1 day in the office, 1 day at home (alternating schedule).
