Job Title: Senior Social Worker - Children Looked After Team
Location: Chelmunds Place, Solihull
Pay Rate: £33.30 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Full-time | Until November 2025
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday | Hybrid working (40-50% office-based)

Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker with a strong background in Children in Care?
Solihull Council is seeking Senior Social Workers to join their dedicated Children Looked After team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a highly supportive and reflective service focused on achieving the best outcomes for young people aged 0-18 who are in the care of the local authority.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a caseload of 16-18 children and young people in care
* Contribute to and lead on permanency planning, discharge of care orders, and progression to adoption
* Use creative engagement techniques to capture the voice and aspirations of children
* Complete high-quality assessments, care planning, and court reports
* Participate in duty week (every third week, office-based required during this time)
* Work collaboratively with carers, families, and external agencies
* Apply a sound understanding of risk assessment and management

What You'll Need:
* Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience in statutory Childrens Social Work
* Strong experience specifically in Children Looked After / Children in Care
* Skilled in court work and permanency planning
* Confident in assessing, planning, and reviewing within statutory frameworks
* Social Work England registration
* Enhanced DBS and references

Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
* At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
