CAFCASS is currently recruiting experienced Agency Family Court Advisers (FCAs) to join its Public & Private Law Teams across the Thames Valley and surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a nationally recognised organisation committed to safeguarding children and ensuring their voices are heard within family court proceedings.
As a Family Court Adviser, you will play a vital role in supporting children and families through complex legal processes, offering professional analysis and recommendations that directly influence outcomes.
The Role
As a valued member of the Public & Private Law Teams, you will:
Undertake early safeguarding enquiries to identify and respond to risk.Provide expert child protection advice within family proceedings.Visit children and families to assess needs, risks, and lived experiences.Complete detailed assessments and provide robust analysis.Prepare high-quality, evidence-based reports for the Family Court.Make clear, child-focused recommendations based on best interests and welfare.Essential RequirementsQualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.Proven experience working within Family Court / Court proceedings.Strong safeguarding and risk assessment experience.Ability to prepare analytical, high-quality court reports.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.Working PatternMonthly office attendance.Weekly virtual team meetings.Initial induction will include a blend of remote and office-based working.Interview ProcessCandidates must complete a written exercise upon application submission.The exercise must be returned within 72 hours.Successful candidates will be invited to a Microsoft Teams interview with two Service Managers.This is a rolling campaign and interviews will continue until all roles are filled.Additional Information

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Experienced LADO required.
* In the role of LADO, you will be responsible for managing allegations against individuals who work or volunteer with children, including those who hold inherent authority due to the nature of their role and regular contact with children.
* You will liaise with employers to ensure children are safeguarded and will work with police, childrens social care, employers and other involved professionals/regulatory bodies to assess risk.
* The LADO does not conduct investigations directly, but oversees and directs them to ensure thoroughness, timeliness and fairness and will challenge delay in case progress where necessary.
