We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Barnsley Transitions team, focusing on supporting young people aged 16-25 years old. This position offers a competitive rate of £33 per hour and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young adults.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Provide comprehensive social work support to young people transitioning into adulthood, including assessment, planning, and intervention. Barnsley Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join their Preparation for Adulthood (Transitions) Team, supporting young people and adults aged 16 to 25 years through the critical transition period from children's to adult services.

Key Responsibilities:
Work with individuals aged 16-25 who are preparing for adulthood, ensuring a smooth and supportive transition.
Complete Care Act 2014 assessments and develop person-centred care and support plans.
Act as caseworker for safeguarding cases involving young people and adults.
Attend and contribute to both children's and adults' multi-agency meetings.
Maintain detailed, up-to-date case records and contribute to reviews and statutory reporting.
Collaborate closely with internal and external partners to support holistic outcomes for service users.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker (BA, MA, DipSW, or equivalent)
Current Social Work England registration
Experience working with young people and/or adults, ideally in transitions or safeguarding settings
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Children and Families Act 2014, and relevant safeguarding legislation
Excellent communication, organisational, and multi-agency working skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred
Additional Information:
Pay: £33 per hour (Umbrella)
Working model: Hybrid - 3 days on-site required (non-negotiable)
