Barnsley Council is launching a brand-new Edge of Care Team, and they are looking for experienced Social Workers to be part of this exciting new initiative. About the Role: The team will work with children aged 10-18 who are at risk of becoming Looked After by the Local Authority. The aim is to provide intensive, targeted, and creative interventions to strengthen family relationships and reduce the likelihood of children entering care. You will work closely with families through one-to-one and family sessions, delivering tailored support designed to meet individual needs and improve long-term outcomes. Key Requirements: Proven experience delivering intensive family interventionsStrong understanding of the factors that contribute to family breakdownExperience working with children who have complex needs, including neurodiversity and traumaAbility to engage with families who may be resistant or mistrustful of professionals This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking service, making a real difference to children and families in the community.
