Barnsley Children's Services is seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Practitioner to join their Children with Disabilities Service in a non-case holding capacity. This is a key role focused on service development, partnership working, and supporting key initiatives across the SEND landscape.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Designated Social Care Officer to support service improvements

  • Lead on training delivery, co-production with families, and development of SEND services

  • Contribute to the setup and support of the new Barnsley Short Breaks Team

  • Engage in multi-agency working with health, SEND, and social care partners

  • Support strategic planning and service delivery across the SEND framework


Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work degree

  • Extensive experience in children's safeguarding and disability services

  • Senior practitioner-level background, with supervisory experience desirable

  • Strong knowledge of children's legislation, SEND Code of Practice, and education law

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time and deliver projects under tight deadlines

  • Confident, driven, and proactive in promoting positive service change
