Barnsley Council is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join their Targeted Early Help Team. This is a great opportunity for a practitioner passionate about early intervention and prevention work with children, young people, and families.

  • Work with children and families at the targeted early help level to prevent escalation into statutory services

  • Build strong relationships and offer support to improve outcomes around education, safety, and wellbeing

  • Collaborate with partner agencies including schools, health, and youth services

  • Support families with parenting, mental health, housing, and financial challenges

  • Maintain detailed, strengths-based assessments and plans

🔹 Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England

  • Strong experience in early help, family support, or safeguarding

  • Knowledge of multi-agency working and early intervention frameworks

  • Ability to engage with families in a non-judgemental and empowering way
